The house’s policies
Every piece is packed by hand in Melbourne and sent tracked, anywhere in the world we can reach.
A Rock on a Lens ships to most countries worldwide. At checkout you choose your country; if it is on the list, we can send there.
Shipping depends on where it is going and how much it weighs. You see the exact cost at checkout, before you pay. [Shipping rates for Australia and overseas to confirm before checkout opens.]
Typically 7–21 business days, depending on the destination. Customs and local postal services can add time that is out of our hands.
Import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the person receiving the parcel. They vary by country and are not included in the shipping cost.
Write to greg@arockonalens.com or find us on Instagram and TikTok at @arockonalens. I aim to answer within 24–48 hours on business days.
Much love, Greg
The house’s policies
Every piece is hand-embellished and made once, so a piece that comes back cannot simply be put on a shelf for someone else.
All sales are final. Because of the exclusive, hand-embellished nature of our pieces, we do not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind. Please look over your order carefully before you complete it — and if you are unsure about anything, ask first.
Nothing here takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a piece arrives faulty or damaged, or is not as described, tell us with a photograph and we will put it right — repair it, or refund you — as the law provides. [How many days after delivery to report a fault, and who pays return postage on a faulty piece, to confirm.]
Keep the stone and write to us. Please do not glue it at home: household glue crazes the frame. [Re-setting terms to confirm.]
A commission is made to your brief and cannot be resold, so it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faults are covered exactly as above.
Write to greg@arockonalens.com — we are happy to help with anything before you buy.

To take payment, pack and send your order, tell you it is on its way, answer your questions, and keep the records the law requires. We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing unless you ask for it.
Some of these services are outside Australia, so your information may be stored or processed overseas.
Order records are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires (generally five years); letters and enquiries for as long as the conversation needs, then deleted.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you also have rights under the GDPR. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days. The terms on which A Rock on a Lens sells through this site. Last updated 5 November 2026.
A Rock on a Lens Eyewear, Melbourne, Australia — greg@arockonalens.com. [ABN to add.]
Every piece is hand-embellished. Stones sit at slightly different angles and catch the light differently, and colours on a screen are never exactly the colours in the hand; these are part of a handmade piece, not faults. Most pieces in the collection are made once; where a piece was made more than once, its page says so.
Prices are in Australian dollars. [Whether prices include GST to confirm.] Shipping is added at checkout, before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe, on Stripe’s secure checkout page.
Your order is accepted when payment goes through and Stripe sends your receipt. A piece is not reserved by putting it in your bag. If two people check out the same one-of-one piece at the same moment, the second payment is refunded in full.
See Shipping and Returns and refunds. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
The piece, the price and the time it takes are agreed in writing before work begins. [Deposit terms to confirm.]
The designs, photographs and words on this site belong to A Rock on a Lens. Please ask before using them.
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect loss. Our responsibility for a piece is limited to repairing it, replacing it or refunding what you paid, as the Australian Consumer Law provides.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
We may update these terms; the terms in force when you placed your order are the ones that apply to it.
